About your motherhood session...
A motherhood session can be done with you & your little loves out on location at sunset when the light is beautiful and golden. We can capture those precious moments of cuddles, kisses and play. I recommend choosing your outfit first, something you love and feel wonderful in, and then choosing the children's outfits second. Remember to dress for the weather, and if its cold blankets, cardigans and tights are a wonderful option. Below the knee is a great option to make sitting and cuddling really comfortable.
Whites, neutrals, earthy tones and soft warm pastels are a beautiful colour option as they compliment my editing style so well. But mostly we want you to look and feel like YOU! Not everyone like dresses and we can spend the time planning your outfits so that everyone feels authentic.
Something a little more intimate...
If you love the idea of documenting something a little more raw and emotion packed, and in-home Motherhood session can be just that. I can spend time with you & your darlings, just doing the every day norm. This is so special and a wonderful keepsake for you to remember just how tiny they were, the difficulties of navigating every day things like baths or showers, and even having a cup of coffee.
An in-home motherhood session is tailed to what YOU need to remember, and how YOU would love to do this. We spend plenty of time discussing and planning for your session to capture all those fleeting moments, and this can be incorporated into a family session or even added on to any sunset session, for the best of both worlds!
Before the session
We will spend plenty of time figuring out exactly the kinds of moments you would like to document, all you have to do is make sure the home is tidy (not spotless) before I arrive.
If you are doing a sunset session it's best to arrive a few minutes early, and remember that this can be late at certain times of the year. Best to make sure everyone is well fed, napped (child permitting) and dressed according to the weather.
I will engage with the kids when I'd like them looking at the camera, and I'll give everyone just enough prompts to keep it natural and fun.
On the day
We go with the flow, follow the children's lead. Being fully present with one another will help me work my magic.
We want to, at all costs, avoid cross words and cranky faces (unless it's the toddlers sassy cranky face which is a gorgeous reminder of all their little expressions) so we take it slow and just focus on kissing, cuddling and loving the children.
If we are doing an in-home session using bath or shower, just remember I'm not in a rush. A lot of children can take a while to get changed, being in the home can offer many distraction too, so if possible it's best to make sure the T.V is off so that we can focus on being together.
Pet's are more then welcome to participate in an in-home session.
